Presentations
A Comprehensive Approach for Bottleneck Identification in Trickle Bed Reactors for the Liquid Phase Hydrogenation of Viscous Aromatic Derivatives on Egg-Shell Catalysts
The identification of bottlenecks in the real behavior of heterogeneous catalysts in trickle bed reactors is a challenging task. In his presentation at the Annual Meeting on Reaction Engineering in Frankfurt, Mr. Held presents a comprehensive methodology from the measurement of kinetic data to reactor simulation.

Dynamically Operated Fixed Bed Reactors for CO2 Methanation: Strategies to Mitigate Catalyst Deactivation
Catalyst deactivation and the associated decrease in conversion and selectivity represent a major challenge in processes with heterogeneously catalyzed reactions. The lecture by Mr. Kellermann presents a methodology how process conditions can be identified with the help of a reaction kinetic approach derived by Mr. Moritz Langer, which avoid catalyst deactivation and thus ensure a long service life of the catalyst.

Model Based Reactor Optimization for a Heterogeneously Catalyzed Fast Highly Endothermal Reaction
When optimizing reactors for heterogeneously catalyzed endothermic fast reactions, heat transport into the catalyst bed represents a major challenge. Ms. Zallmann presents her results on the experimental determination of the reaction kinetics of the endothermic equilibrium reaction of an industrial process and the modelling of the industrial reactor as well as initial optimization approaches.
