David Kellermann

The aim of Mr. Kellermann's research is to gain a better understanding of the load flexibility of methanation in the power-to-gas process. For this purpose, reaction kinetic model approaches are to be developed that describe catalyst deactivation under dynamic conditions. These investigations are to be carried out for a novel catalyst system. This catalyst system, produced by a project partner, counteracts permanent deactivation by in situ regeneration of the active sites. The models are to be validated with own kinetic measurements. By providing a description of this system under transient and deactivating conditions that is as complete as possible, yet mathematically manageable, the developed models will be applied in reactor design studies based on numerical optimization.
