The EPIC-9 (9th European Process Intensification Conference) took place in Athens from June 4-6, 2025. Here, Hannsjörg Freund presented an overview of selected research work by the institute as part of an invited plenary lecture entitled "Intelligent design of structured catalysts for flexible, safe and efficient reactor operation".

In addition, he chaired a session at the conference in cooperation with the European Process Intensification Centre (Europic), which focused specifically on the opportunities and challenges involved in the industrial implementation of methods and technologies for process intensification.
