Our team

We are the Institute of Reaction Engineering and Catalysis (REC)! Since September 2021 we are part of TU Dortmund University and took over the Institute of Chemical Process Engineering (CVT) of Prof. Agar. A large part of our team was in the working group "Catalytic Reactors and Process Engineering" of the Institute "Chemical Reaction Engineering" at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg before and moved to Dortmund together with Prof. Freund.

Under the supervision of Prof. Freund, our doctoral students are conducting research on three main topics: Model-based design of optimal reactors, cellular catalyst support structures and reaction kinetics: experiments, network analysis and modeling. Of course, alongside our work at the department, joint events like barbecues, Christmas market visits, or movie nights are a must
